TORONTO, ON, May 25, 2010 — The Certified General Accountants of Ontario (CGA Ontario) is one of several proud youth leadership award sponsors at the upcoming 2010 MicroSkills’ gala and awards presentation taking place Thursday, May 27, at 6 p.m. at the Pearson Convention Centre.
The youth leadership award celebrates individuals who have exhibited excellent achievement and who have been role models for other young people through MicroSkills programs and in their respective communities. This year MicroSkills will honour Omar Goodman and Rachita Monga; two remarkable young people who have overcome hurdles and thrived while inspiring others.
MicroSkills and CGA Ontario collectively recognize Rachita Monga – A consummate leader whose dedication to community involvement has set her as an invaluable role model for others. As an organization focused on lifelong professional development, CGA Ontario recognizes Rachita’s achievements in fostering positive development of the international community. The Association congratulates her and all 2010 award recipients.
Other noteworthy awards include:
Margot Franssen Leadership Award recognizing a woman who combines outstanding leadership with a passionate commitment to advancement of women and girls.
MicroSkills Corporate Spirit Award honours companies who strive for excellence, not only in business, but also in support of their communities and diversity.
MicroSkills Entrepreneur of the Year awards honour graduates of the Women’s Enterprise and Resource Centre who have successfully realized their dream of starting their own business.
MicroSkills is a multicultural, non-profit, community-based organization committed to assisting the unemployed, with priority given to women, racial minorities, youth and immigrants, through settlement, training, employment and self-employment services throughout the GTA and Peel Region.
