CGA Ontario’s new accreditation agreement with Western University set to benefit students

TORONTO, ON (March 26, 2012) —Certified General Accountants of Ontario today announced that Western University (formerly the University of Western Ontario) students with a bachelor of management and organizational studies degree and specialization or major in accounting are now able to fast-track to a CGA designation while still in school.

“This is great news for students interested in taking their careers to the next level,” said James King, Vice-President, Business Development, CGA Ontario. “The CGA designation opens up new doors and now qualified students at Western University will be able to more easily take advantage of these opportunities.”

Accreditation is awarded to universities with an accounting program that provides students with the highest number of transfer credits towards the CGA designation. Western University in London, Ontario is CGA Ontario’s most recent accredited partner.
