CGA Ontario launches new certification program with Ryerson

TORONTO, ON (April 11, 2012) — CGA Ontario recently launched an intensive certification program with Ryerson University’s G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education for accounting and finance professionals looking to take their project management knowledge and skills to new levels.

The Certificate in Project Management program is a three-day program providing participants with an understanding of the Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide. Upon completion, attendees will be equipped with high-demand skills including how to align project cost estimates and report within an organization’s financial system when controlling projects.

“This certificate program is unique as most learnings can be directly applied to your workplace,” said Joanne Gumaer, Certificate in Project Management instructor. “It’s a great three-day investment for those looking to jump ahead in their careers.”

Delivered through a combination of lectures, guided discussions and group exercises, classes are divided into project teams to simulate a real world working environment. The program examines a number of important concepts including phases and the project life cycle, project plan development, project manager skills, risk identification and project plan execution.
