All new and re-enrolling students pay an annual non-refundable basic tuition fee each academic year. This fee includes education administration overhead, student services and publications.
Pay fees by certified or employer cheque, Interac, money order or credit card (Visa or MasterCard ). Make cheques or money orders payable to CGA Ontario. Cash, personal cheques and/or post-dated cheques are not accepted. Tuition fee receipts for income tax purposes are issued in February annually.
New student basic tuition fees depend on the session of initial enrolment. Students who enrol in the first session pay the entire year’s basic tuition fee. If students enrol in later sessions, they will pay a pro-rated portion of the full year’s basic tuition fee, i.e.,
In subsequent years, all students pay the annual basic tuition fee in the fall.
Course fees are structured to include the costs of textbooks, CD/Internet-based resources, educational software and examination fees (except for deferred and supplemental examinations). Exceptions include the Sage Accpac ERP 5.6A software and CICA Handbook (both available at special educational rates) and text/software provided with prerequisite courses. Refer to the Student Handbook for applicable fees. Fees exclude any applicable taxes.
Students who are granted additional transfer credits after initial enrolment must pay $60 per transfer credit.
The fee for a challenge exam is $300 and does not include required textbooks or software, but includes access to lesson notes online. A listing of other fees can be found in the student handbook.

Students in the CGA program qualify for the federal government’s Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) that allows a student or spouse to withdraw funds from a registered savings plan to finance a CGA education. In order for the CGA program to qualify, students must enrol in courses in at least three sessions. Obtain information from the Canada Revenue Agency’s website at www.ccra-adrc.gc.ca.
As part of its financial services package for CGAs, the Bank of Montreal offers a special line of credit to students in the CGA program who may obtain up to $20,000 per year to a maximum of $80,000 over six years. The line of credit is for tuition, course fees, books, computer and software purchases. There are no fees and students can make interest-only payments for up to one year after certification.
Bank of Montreal Professional Student Line of Credit
All students must use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint for Windows, version 2003 or 2007, in all courses. When enrolling, students must acknowledge that they currently own, have the owner’s permission to use, or will purchase this product.

Students may purchase the CGA computer tutorials. The Sage Accpac ERP 5.6A software includes CT3.
Certain courses in level 4 and up require access to the current edition of the CICA Handbook. If required, a link is provided in your online course from which you may purchase an electronic version of the appropriate version of the CICA Handbook. Electronic versions are licensed for one academic year only and are not updated.
Service charges, and fees paid for application for transfer credits, former student evaluation, annual basic tuition, and exam deferral are non refundable.
To change a course or transfer to another session after registering, include any difference in course fees and a $95 withdrawal service charge, which covers withdrawal from the original course. Pay attention to course withdrawal deadlines when requesting any course changes.
To obtain a course fee refund (less a $95 withdrawal service charge), you must withdraw online or by email to adm®@cga-ontario.org or in writing by registered mail, no later than the course withdrawal deadlines listed below.
To avoid academic penalty, withdraw from a course on or before the deadline, you will not be eligible for a refund, but the course will not be counted as a failure.
