Pursuant to Article 9, Section 10 of CGA Ontario’s By-Law Four, if in the course of its review of matters that come before it, the discipline committee receives evidence that discloses likely immediate and serious harm to the public or a third party, it shall cause the matter to be summarily investigated.
Where the chair of the board of CGA Ontario believes immediate suspension of a member is required in the public interest, the chair may impose a temporary suspension, which takes effect immediately. A temporary suspension imposed by the chair is subject to confirmation by CGA Ontario’s board of governors at its next meeting.
