Golf Tournament Donations Required
Donations are needed for the Joint Chapter Golf
Tournament to be held in July 2008. If either you or your company have room left
in your corporate promotion budget for 2007, we are currently accepting donations
for this annual event.

Ramona Greer, CGA and Alan Rennie, CGA, ran a well-organized registration desk
.

Lawrence Persaud, CGA, handed out CCH tax books, parking tokens and played an
important
role in directing traffic.

Huronia Chapter’s tax seminar would not be successful without the annual support
from
CCH Canadian and Client Tracker.

This year, Glen Schmidt, FCGA, provided a tax update with a different perspective.
In addition to covering technical issues, he also added insight into the CRA, recounting
experiences from his 26-year tenure.

About 80 CGAs and other professional accountants gathered on a day where weather
was typically “winter in
Barrie
” to hear the lastest tax updates, court cases and glean
benefit from Glen’s insight
and experiences.

Ontario

Dave MacKinnon, CGA, introduces Bernie Keim, CGA, vice-president, member services
and regulatory affairs, CGA Ontario.

Bernie Keim, CGA, takes the audience through history of the last decade reflecting
on court
cases, legislation and progress in accounting professional parity with
the other associations.
His presentation included future mandates, public
licensing requirements, and the registration
processes involved.
