Marie C. Allison, FCPA, FCA
Christine Allison, President and CEO at MD Life Insurance Company, also serves as the Vice-President, Finance of MD Financial Management Inc. Both organizations provide wealth management services to physician members of the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and their families. Based in Ottawa, she has served on CPA Canada’s Board of Evaluators and Evaluation of Experience Committee, while also taking part in CPA Ontario’s Mentorship Program. In addition, Christine has been involved in first the UFE and now the CFE for over 30 years, including as a marker, team leader and supervisor. Her charitable activities have included board and committee work with the Ontario Lung Association, the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and the University of Ottawa’s Telfer Capital Fund.
Tony J. Ancimer, FCPA, FCA
Tony Ancimer is the International Tax Partner and Lead Tax Partner at Deloitte LLP in Toronto, responsible for managing the broader tax relationship with clients and bringing the breadth of Deloitte tax services to meet their needs. Tony was the leader of the firm’s Toronto Tax Practice for three years and had overall responsibility for the performance of about 60 partners and over 500 personnel. He was a sub-committee member of CPA Canada and the Canadian Bar Association’s Joint Committee of Taxation, serves on CPA Canada’s Industry Tax Committee, and has been a tax course instructor, lecturer and presenter at both Deloitte and external tax conferences. Tony was an adjunct professor for the University of Waterloo’s Master of Tax program.
Upkar S. Arora, FCPA, FCA
Upkar Arora is the CEO of Purpose Capital Limited, an impact investment advisory firm that mobilizes all forms of capital to accelerate social progress. He is also CEO of the boutique advisory firm Illumina Partners Inc., which provides operational, financial and strategic expertise to help boards, management, lenders and private equity investors successfully navigate transformational events. A graduate of its first Master of Accounting class in 1985, Upkar serves as Chair of the Advisory Council of the School of Accounting and Finance as well as on the University of Waterloo’s Board of Governors. Upkar is also a Director on the boards of Metrolinx, the Institute for Canadian Citizenship and Why Not Theatre.
Marie R.J. (Johanne) Belanger, FCPA, FCA
Johanne Belanger is the President and CEO of Tourism Toronto, the destination marketing organization for the Greater Toronto Region. A not-for-profit agency, Tourism Toronto focuses on promoting the Greater Toronto Region as a destination for tourists, business travellers and conventions. Johanne has a track record of community leadership, with a particular emphasis on issues related to enhancing Toronto’s profile on the world stage, supporting the development of female leaders and mentoring young professionals. She is a board member for the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, the Association for Women in Events and sits on the Advisory Board for the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Johanne is also a founding Activator for SheEO Inc.
Brian J. Bentz, FCPA, FCA
Brian Bentz is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Alectra Inc., the second largest municipally-owned electric utility by customer base in North America, with 2017 consolidated assets and revenues forecasted to be $4 billion and $3 billion, respectively. To create Alectra, Brian oversaw the merger of three Greater Toronto and Hamilton area utilities, and the subsequent purchase of a fourth utility. He is the Chair of the Electrical Safety Authority and Ontario’s Independent Electricity System Operator Stakeholder Advisory Committee. He sits on the Board of the Ontario Energy Association (OEA). Previously, he served as Chair of the Electricity Distributors Association (EDA), the Municipal Electric Association Reciprocal Insurance Exchange, the Ontario Power Authority Stakeholder Advisory Committee and the OEA.
Isabella Bertani, FCPA, FCA
A partner at RSM Canada LLP, Isabella Bertani leads the firm’s Global Subsidiary Group. She joined RSM Canada's predecessor firm in 2015 because of her interest in growing an international practice and, under her direction, the firm has become a leader in the international and economic development communities. Isabella volunteers for CPA Canada, acting as an ambassador for the Women’s Leadership Committee and, in 2017, serving on the One Conference’s Financial Reporting Advisory Committee. She is a tireless contributor to her community, especially in women’s leadership and global economic development. She volunteers for IR Global, the International Economic Development Council, the McMichael Canadian Art Foundation, the Kleinburg Rotary Club and the Vaughan Chamber of Commerce.
Susan G. Bishop, FCPA, FCA
Susan Bishop is the Canadian Business Tax Incentives Practice Leader at EY. She started the practice in Canada in 1992 and now manages a national team of financial, science, and engineering professionals in SR&ED, other tax credits, capital cost segregation and incentives client services. Susan is a member of EY’s Global R&D and Innovation Leadership Council and has served on many firm boards, including the Americas Partner Advisory Council and the Canadian Partnership Board. She is the former Canadian Chair of EY’s Gender Equity Advisory Council and was the inaugural Chair of CPA Canada’s Women’s Leadership Council. Susan currently serves on CPA Canada’s SR&ED Advisory Tax Committee and is an active volunteer in her community.
Joseph D.R. Blais, FCPA, FCA
Robert Blais is a partner with Collins Barrow Sudbury and has been a member of the firm’s executive team for over 10 years. As Chair of Collins Barrow’s National Professional Practice Advisory Committee, he has lead various technological and innovation initiatives to ensure that individual member firms are maintaining the highest professional and technical standards. Robert is enthusiastic about community and cultural initiatives. He sits on multiple boards, including Jazz Sudbury and the fundraising cabinet for Place des Arts de Sudbury, the future Sudbury Arts Centre. He was a financial advisor during the fundraising phase for this $30 million project.

Eddy Burello is a Partner at MNP LLP. In his national role with the firm's Real Estate and Construction sector, he is recognized as a major contributor to the development of partners and staff who specialize in this client service area. Actively involved with CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Course, Eddy was previously a member of the Tax Education Committee. He often speaks on taxation matters and recently presented on tax reform to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Finance. He is also the Immediate Past President and CEO and the current Chair of the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association and is an executive member of the Boards of the Famous People Players and The Italian Earthquake Relief Fund.
