CPA Ontario releases new guide for CPD requirements
New CPD guide delivers straight-forward answers to frequently asked questions
TORONTO, March 28, 2018 — At CPA Ontario, we recognize that disruptive change is constantly transforming the world around us and that CPAs are called upon to make decisions amid ambiguity and navigate this shifting landscape. Continuing Professional Development (CPD) helps CPAs remain current with the latest business trends and encourages them to evolve their skills and remain go-to resources for companies and organizations in any industry. To help our members understand and meet their CPD requirements, we have created a brand-new tool: “A Simple Guide to CPD Requirements.”
Designed to provide straightforward answers to frequently asked questions, this new guide covers everything you need to know about one of the key requirements of CPA Ontario membership. You’ll learn:
- what CPD is,
- what verifiable hours are and how to track and report them,
- how to qualify for a CPD exemption, and
- when and how a member’s CPD declaration is audited.
“At CPA Ontario, we are working on increasing the ease of navigating our regulatory processes for the benefits of our members and protection of the public interest,” says Kelly Gorman, Vice-President of Regulatory and Standards at CPA Ontario. “As a profession, we know CPD requirements assist you with staying relevant in your field of practice.
